The truth is, we cannot forgive on our own strength. Only with the help of God can we offer forgiveness. The process of becoming a forgiving person takes time. For some it may take a lifetime. God is patient with us and does help us to move on from our anger, hurt, and resentment to the state of forgiveness. "Ask for a forgiving spirit and you shall receive. Amen."
